Recipe Board

The purpose of this design is to find and save recipes and view the details to recreate them. The main focus of this design is to allow a decision to be easily made by presenting the options in a beautiful yet logical manner. The flow of the application allows for an enjoyable experience regardless of the user’s intention. If the user has a type of recipe in mind, they are able to quickly navigate to the appropriate page. Otherwise, if the user is interested in browsing, they are able to see a variety of options.

In addition to the explore pages, the recipes are presented in an intuitive manner. The user is able to quickly skim the ingredients and see the time required to be able to efficiently assess if this is the right choice for them. Furthermore, the ability to quickly navigate between the ingredients and instructions is a deliberate choice. In many designs, the ingredients and instructions are listed in a vertical flow and this often leads to the annoying process of scrolling up and down repeatedly to reference the two simultaneously. The sliding button allows the user to quickly reference the two pieces of information simultaneously without having to navigate back to their spot.
